This coming Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, sometimes known as the birthday of the Christian church.

Dear Congregation,

This coming Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, sometimes known as the birthday of the Christian church. I do hope you’ll be in worship, whether in-person in the Sanctuary, or joining in on Facebook. The picture above is from Pentecost 2020 when worship was live streamed to you from my apartment in Bay Harbor Islands. How blessed we are to have moved forward from that time of intense isolation and fear to now. Thanks to the availability of the vaccine things are opening up and feeling more “normal” even as we continue to take recommended precautions out of concern for others as well as ourselves.

Red is the liturgical color of the day and so you are invited, if you choose, to wear red yourselves. A “red” life-giving opportunity was shared in an email sent by the Rev. David Lane to me with the heading “Give Blood  Pentecost Sunday…”

OneBlood will be at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 20740 Old Cutler Rd. from 10-1 p.m.

I want to make you aware of another faith opportunity. Our congregation is invited to a free Interfaith Memorial Concert of Hope at 4:30 next Sunday, May 30th to be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The event will honor veterans as well as those having lost their lives to COVID-19.  On the flier there is a link to make reservations which are required.

Continued blessings to you all and may you feel renewed in your life journey by the power of the Holy Spirit!

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
