Dear Congregation,

I hope you’re doing well and were able to enjoy some of the beautiful fireworks last evening! It is important to be reminded every Independence Day of how important freedom is, even as there continue to be challenges to it in our democracy and around the world. Voting has never been more important and so we’ll help you check your eligibility to vote, if you’d like, after worship, in Kelsey Hall beginning this Sunday.

On another topic…I was surprised on Monday, July 1st by a message that arrived in my personal email. In it was this picture from the past labeled Your Memories From This Day. It reminded me that July 1, 2018, was the date six year ago that I began my call as Interim Pastor at CCC. Daniel Best had very thoughtfully put this welcome message on the church sign out front, “HEAR YE! HEAR YE! PASTOR CANDY WE WARMLY WELCOME YOU WITH OPEN ARMS! That kindness meant a great deal to me when I saw it as I drove in that Sunday, and I have found that message to be true over these years . Thank you all!

One of many things that has changed just recently is the time of worship. We are experimenting over the summer with moving worship from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. I would very much appreciate feedback from everyone in the congregation. Please let me, Bianca, and Council members know what you think.

I do hope to see each of you in worship on Sunday. It is a blessing to worship God together!

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
