Welcome to Christ Congregational United Church of Christ

Jesus didn’t turn people away, neither do we!

That statement summarizes what is great about Christ Congregational United Church of Christ. This is a church of warm, friendly people who honestly and sincerely care for people. This is evident in the extravagant welcome and acceptance which so many have found in this congregation and in the wider United Church of Christ. Here you will find acceptance for who you are, as you are, without any conditions. Here you’ll know that God’s love truly is unconditional, extravagant and freely given.

This acceptance and caring for people is also evident in the strong mission outreach to the wider community that is a vital part of the activity of this church.

Christ Congregational Church strives to provide support for needy and hurting people in a variety of ways – by sharing food, collecting and providing toiletries, towels, socks, and other personal items to the residents of the Homeless Assistance Center in Homestead, providing school supplies for children, and generally seeking ways to reach out and make a difference in the community.

At Christ Congregational Church you will discover an open attitude of acceptance for a wide variety of views and ideas. Here you will find Republicans and Democrats and Independents rubbing elbows and working together as friends. You will find straight and gay people working side-by-side to secure human rights and justice for all people. You will find people from many racial, ethnic, and national backgrounds, all coming together as one people to demonstrate our love and gratitude to God for all God’s many blessings. A policy of “free-thinking” is embraced here and the church demonstrates a willingness to adjust to change and new ideas.
