Grace and peace to you! I hope you are all doing well!

Dear Congregation,

Grace and peace to you! I hope you are all doing well! I also hope you’ll be able to be present in worship this Sunday (in person or on Facebook) to experience something a little different. Worship will focus on the theme of “God-inspired Joy” found in 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19. This is the story of David dancing before the Arc of the Covenant as it is brought into Jerusalem led by a variety of musical instruments. As part of worship, the congregation will have the opportunity to participate in a drumming circle led by our own Jay and Graham. Everyone will be provided a drum, or you may bring your own. Those at home may want to have a pan and spoon ready, if nothing else, to join in. The object is for all to actually experience a little joy in the here and now of worship by praising God with rhythm and music. I think we can all use more joy!

In addition, on Sunday we will resume Fellowship time in Kelsey Hall after worship. I know we’ve all missed being able to sit and visit with each other on Sunday mornings. It will be a nice time to catch up and share what’s going on in our lives with our CCC friends. It will be a little different, as we’ll enjoy prepackaged snacks for now. There will be a sign-up sheet for individuals to volunteer to bring a treat and help with set-up and clean-up in the future.

You will also have an opportunity to meet and welcome Miriam Grissett Rivera who started as our temporary Administrative Assistant this week. Miriam comes to us with many interesting and diverse work experiences. She is a neighbor of David and Sonya Williams. Thank you, David, for sending her our way!

May God bless you and CCC, now and always.

In Christ’s love.
