February greetings!

Dear Congregation,

February greetings! I hope all is well with you and yours.

I want to thank The Rev. Bob Snyder for stepping in on short notice to lead worship last Sunday after I was unexpectedly hospitalized Friday night. Many thanks, also, to all you others whose participation ensured that worship happened in a meaningful way.

I was with you in spirit, as I joined you on Facebook. It was brought home to me, once again, what a gift it is to be able to offer the opportunity to be in worship to those who are ill, traveling, or have scheduling conflicts. Facebook has been a wonderful ministry tool for CCC! Thank you to Daniel Best and Lorrie LeGrand (and occasionally Isabella) for their livestreaming faithfulness week after week.

It seems rather timely to me that on the back of this coming Sunday’s worship bulletin is an excerpt from the book “How to Begin When Your World is Ending: A Spiritual Field Guide to Joy Despite Everything” by The Rev Molly Phinney Baskette. I ordered the book as soon as I read the excerpt and am very much looking forward to reading it. I recognize that we humans (myself included!) have many unexpected emergencies to deal with throughout life. Although we have the gift of faith, we all can use some help as we encounter them, and we all can certainly use more joy! Perhaps you’d like to read the book, too, and have a group discussion on it. If so, please let me know.

I look forward to seeing you in worship Sunday and to Joan Campagna’s presentation (with pictures!) afterward on her recent trip to the Holy Land. God Bless You.

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
