This coming Sunday, June 20th is the first day of summer.

Dear Congregation,

This coming Sunday, June 20th is the first day of summer. I do hope that each of you can have some Sabbath time, so badly needed after the rough months of pandemic we’ve all endured. Vacation time isn’t just a luxury; it is a necessity to keep our inner being healthy and grounded. We need the peace to be found in nature and in time spent away from the everyday grind, to recharge our spiritual batteries. Worship is a very good place to find Sabbath rest and nourishment for the soul as we take the opportunity offered to just “be” in God’s house.

Thanks to all you CCC members who were able to attend last Sunday’s Congregational meeting! There was a very good and positive spirit present as we were brought up to date on the work of the Property Planning Task Force by Moderator Lorrie LeGrand. It was also a good opportunity for you to meet our property attorney Joseph Colletti and to have him answer your questions. The task force’s work continues, following a unanimous vote to sell church property, then lease back long-term what we wish to use. I think we can understand that this big undertaking is a marathon not a sprint. You will be kept advised as progress is made. This is an exciting time in the life of CCC!

Happy Father’s Day to the men in our congregation, and thanks be to God for wonderful fathers of memory who live in our hearts!

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
