There is room for more volunteers!

Dear Congregation,

As I reflect on last Sunday’s Annual Congregational Meeting this Bible verse comes to my mind. “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Psalm 133:1 (NIV) There was a wonderful spirit present as we enjoyed a light lunch in Kelsey Hall while attending to the business of the church. Outgoing President/Moderator Lorrie LeGrand was honored with a certificate thanking her for her outstanding leadership from 2018 to 2022.

She then walked us through the reasons for amending the By-Laws and explained the three ministries that would replace the boards. They are the Ministry of Church and Spiritual Life, the Ministry of Property, Personnel & Finance, and the Ministry of Mission and Outreach. Questions were asked and answered, and comments were offered by members throughout the meeting. A vote was taken, and this change passed overwhelmingly. Those present were then given the opportunity to volunteer to serve on these ministries. There is room for more volunteers, so please consider letting me know of your interest.

Lorrie then gave an update on the progress of the sale of church property. After discussion, members again voted unanimously to approve the sale with a lease-back provision of twenty years. When the final contract is ready, it will be brought to members for their vote.

Graham Bryan then took over and presented the slate of new Council members. They were voted in and are: Graham Bryan, President/Moderator: Daniel Best, Vice-Moderator; Antonia Godley-Juarez, Treasurer; Joan Chandler, Recording Secretary; Judy Carlson, Financial Secretary; and Fay Gordon, Member-At-Large. I know we are grateful for their willingness to share their gifts.

I want you to know that I very much appreciate your words of affirmation and support after I shared my report and thoughts on my future with CCC.

Although we are relatively small in membership, we are big in heart and in our love for Christ and our neighbor. There is a spirit of excitement and possibility present at CCC, along with a spirit of gratitude that we are together with those we trust and care about on this journey. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us!

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
