Dear Congregation,
The Peace of Christ to you! I hope it is well with your soul.
Many of you who attended last Saturday’s Benefit Concert for the UCC Ukraine Relief Fund have shared with me what a beautiful and meaningful spiritual experience it was for you. As a result of the performances of our church members and friends, $1804 was donated to help refugees from the war in Ukraine.
Many thanks to Jay Harrigan, Director of Music; Graham Bryan, Church Musician; Charlotte Balcells, Julio Balcells, and Bennie Wiley for sharing their musical talents. Thanks also to those who were greeters and ushers, and to Miriam Grissett for creating the lovely program. Rita Smith’s art enhanced the breezeway where CCC Women had refreshments for sale. Thanks to all who donated those drinks and snacks.
Thanks also to Joan Chandler for putting together the packets of sunflower seeds favors and decorating tables with sunflower tablecloths. Much appreciation to Judy Carlson for taking care of finances. Several of you helped in more than one way, from setting up to cleaning up. (Darn those peacocks!) Thank you to Fay Gordon, Wally Carlson, and, of course, Daniel Best who also handled livestreaming the concert on Facebook!
As some of you know, there were last minute challenges when a couple of our scheduled performers became ill, but the show did indeed go on thanks to everyone’s flexibility and creativity. The church was at its best working together for a very important mission of help and hope. Thanks be to God for a very special time at CCC!!!
