Thanksgiving Sunday

Dear Congregation,

This Sunday you are invited to be present in worship as we celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday, followed by a no-fuss Thanksgiving Picnic. You will have the option of eating in Kelsey Hall or outdoors in the Garden Chapel. Pandemic protocols will be followed for everyone’s peace of mind. I hope you’ll be here and bring friends and family. It will be nice to have some time together to chat about holiday plans and traditions, and to catch up on what’s going on in our daily lives.

In worship we’ll also be blessing the 50 Comfort Boxes which you’ve donated to SOS, Homestead, though Mission Outreach. Thank you to Karen Kett for coordinating this project! This will be the final Sunday to contribute to the holiday dinners of the families of the five Guardian Ad Litem children that Daniel Best and Margarita Morell represent. CCC members and friends are very generous in sharing their blessings!

As a church, and as individuals, we have surely been very blessed in this past year. May God be praised for bringing us through the many challenges we’ve faced. Just as I, and I’m sure you, have taught our children to appreciate what we’ve been given by saying, “Thank you!” so we’ll be thanking God in worship. The altar will be decorated with harvest fruits and vegetables; we’ll sing the familiar Thanksgiving hymns and reflect on the words of the scripture lessons Psalm 126 and Matthew 6:25-33.

I thank God for each of you and wish you each a Blessed Thanksgiving!

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
