Sometimes it’s the small things in which we find joy!

Dear Congregation,

I hope you are doing well! I was happy to finally receive my new UCC Desk Calendar and Plan Book this week. (Sometimes it’s the small things in which we find joy!) In addition to the monthly calendar pages, it contains the scripture lessons for each Sunday and for holy days, lists Special Days and gives the schedule for All Church offerings. There is also other important information allowing connection to the wider church.

The theme on the calendar’s colorful sunrise cover is “Making all things New” referring to Isaiah 43:18-19.

Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Inside the front cover is a letter from The Rev. Dr. John Dorhauer, our denomination’s General Minister and President. I found it so meaningful and inspiring that I wanted to share it with each of you. I think it speaks very realistically to the times in which we find ourselves but is encouraging in its hopeful message for our faith journey together.
