What a joy it was to see about twenty of you this past Monday when we surprised Frank Tirb on his 90th birthday!

Dear Congregation,

What a joy it was to see about twenty of you this past Monday when we surprised Frank Tirb on his 90th birthday! We were quite the parade of cars as we pulled up to Frank and Mary’s home, honking our good wishes. Balloons and signs abounded as you can see from the pictures shared by Karen Kett and by Judy Carlson, who organized this event. We were all impressed that Mary was able to keep our visit a secret from Frank!

I join you in looking forward to the day when we’ll be able to be back on the CCC campus for worship in the Sanctuary and Garden Chapel, and for Fellowship and programs in Kelsey. I know we’ve really missed being together in person, even though technology has provided the means for us to worship and get together for meetings. But being physically separated, even though difficult, is the way we live out our love and concern for each other.

As summer draws to a close and we look forward to the season of fall, we realize that time has indeed passed. We have made it through five difficult months of quarantine. We can look forward to brighter days ahead, as hopeful news comes of Covid-19 vaccine trials taking place and falling numbers of reported infections. Hang in there!

As we hear in Psalm 30:5b “Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

May God bless you and keep you safe.

In Christ’s love,

Pastor Candy
