Dear Congregation,
It’s back to school time again! Summer vacation has gone by quickly, and so children are headed back to their classes next week. We’ll have a Blessing of the Backpacks this Sunday during worship, and I invite all of you who wish (child, teen, or grown-up) to bring your backpacks. The school supplies and backpacks that you’ve donated for the foster children of our Guardian Ad Litems will also be placed in front of the communion table for their blessing. Thanks to all who gave so generously and to our Mission Outreach board for coordinating the project!
Please remember that there are opportunities for continuing your Christian Education right here at CCC. Prime Time Adult Discussion Group will begin again on Sunday, September 8th at 9 a.m. in Kelsey Hall. They will study the book How the Bible Actually Works by Peter Enns. I will resume leading weekly Bible study on Monday, September 9th from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. And of course, we have Sunday School classes during worship for children and youth with our wonderful, dedicated teachers.
Christian Education is life-long learning. I urge you to take advantage of what is offered here at CCC.
