Star Words
Dear Congregation,
I have some sad news to share with you. Long-time CCC member Jim Ketzle, Cindy’s husband, went home to God on Monday, December 30th. Darius (Bubba) Reid, Joy’s husband, also passed into eternal life that day. Please join me in extending the sympathy of the church to their families. May they experience God’s loving presence and find comfort in the caring and outreach of their church family.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Candy
STAR WORDS
This Sunday is the day before Epiphany, January 6th. In worship we’ll remember the magi who followed the star to find the baby Jesus. Following worship you are invited to take a star from the tray on the back table. They will be lying face down so you can’t see the word until you’ve selected it and turned it over. On each of the stars is a word. The premise is this: the magi followed the star to find the baby Jesus, bringing their gifts. We are also seeking Jesus, trusting that God can/does use many signs (or stars) to guide us closer to the Divine presence. Trust the word that selects you. Hang it somewhere you’ll see it often and see what meaning it has for you in 2025. (You are free to trade out a word, if you’d like.)
