We had a good time together at our first Food & Faith
Dear Congregation,
We had a good time together at our first Food & Faith event last Sunday as we enjoyed Chinese food and focused on the topic of PEACE. For our activity Bianca taught us how to make origami Peace Doves, which was challenging for some of us, but we managed, as you can see from the pictures. Materials and instructions will continue to be available in Kelsey Hall and you are invited to continue making the Peace Doves as you visit with each other before worship and afterward during fellowship time. You are also welcome to take some pieces of origami paper and instructions home, then bring your Peace Doves back to church. Below you’ll find a link to a video with instructions. You are welcome to invite your friends and family to make Peace Doves, too.
Our goal is to have enough Peace Doves to hang in strands from a hoop, making a powerful visual witness to our belief that peace is possible. We are targeting the first Sunday of Advent, November 30th, to complete this activity so we can have our Peace Doves ready to dedicate on the second Sunday of Advent, December 7th. We’ll light the Peace Candle on the Advent Wreath then as we await birth of the Prince of Peace on Christmas.
Peace and Blessings. I hope to see you in worship Sunday!
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Candy
