Opportunities for Meaningful Worship

Dear Congregation,

This coming Sunday offers several opportunities for meaningful worship, community, fun, outreach, and witness. It is Transfiguration Sunday when Jesus’ glory shines forth on the mountain and we ponder the meaning of that mystery. Our Praise and Worship team will be present enhancing worship with some wonderful music.

Following worship you’re invited to a pizza lunch during a Mardi Gras—themed Food & Faith community time together in Kelsey Hall There will be beads and decorations and King Cake to enjoy as we’ll be reminded of the meaning of Mardi Gras. We will conclude our time together by gathering in a circle and singing as we put away the Alleluia for Lent. A little later that afternoon some of us will carpool together to the Alligator Alcatraz Prayer Vigil in the Everglades. All are welcome to these events. Invite a friend!

Lent begins this week on Ash Wednesday. During the 6:30 p.m. worship service the Imposition of Ashes will be offered. I invite you to be present for this meaningful beginning of our Lenten journey.

In the challenges to our spirits that events in the news offer these days, it is good to ground ourselves in our faith. I hope to see you on Sunday and on Ash Wednesday.

In Christ’s love.

Pastor Candy
