Happy spring to you!

Dear Congregation,

Happy spring to you! As of yesterday we are officially in a new season which those of us who previously lived up north used to welcome so gladly after the cold and snow of winter. Bianca and I caught a glimpse of the beauties of spring in Tallahassee this week where we had traveled to participate, along with other FL UCC churches, in Pride at the Capitol sponsored by Equality Florida,. The vibrant colors of blooming azaleas could also be seen in those of the gay pride flags and apparel which were displayed proudly by other participants.

We had a meaningful time there and returned safely last night. In Sunday worship we will share our reflections with you on our experiences. These included meeting with Florida legislators, marching in the Let Us Live protest for our transgender siblings, and worshiping at United Church of Tallahassee. I hope you’ll be present!

Thank you for sending us to represent CCC! Please know that we were thanked many times for showing up and being allies of those in the GLBTQ+ community whose rights are under attack. Presence matters!
