Grace and peace to each of you! Actually, it is PEACE that will be our focus in worship this week on JUST PEACE SUNDAY. Our Peace Person, Debbie Wanninkhof, will be with us to give the Children’s Message and to share her musical gifts. I hope you will be present in worship, either in person or virtually on Facebook. The U.C.C.’s theme this year is “Grow Justice, Know Peace!” based on Psalm 1:3a, “They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season.”
You’re also invited to participate in ZOOM Bible Study on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. We got off to a good start this week as we began delving into the Gospel of John using the Listen Up! curriculum. It emphasizes listening for God’s word coming to each of us personally through scripture, shared stories, and reflections.
Good news is that Miriam Grissett’s employment with CCC has been expanded. In addition to her position as temporary Administrative Assistant, Miriam will be doing cleaning for the church. We have been looking to fill this position for some time. While I know we all very much appreciate Daniel Best volunteering to take care of this important need in these past months, I am glad we are now able to relieve him of this responsibility, as he does so much for the church already! Welcome, Miriam, to your new role and many thanks, Daniel!
I know you join me in extending the sympathy of the church to Peggy and Don Olson, their family, and friends, on the passing of Wendy, who went home to God last week. I have been in contact with Peggy who asked me to share with you their gratitude for your prayers and support. I know those will continue.
In the words of the beloved hymn “Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love.” It is that love, which makes up the fabric of the church and comes from God, that sustains us in in all the joys and sorrows of life.
God Bless You.
In Christ’s love,
