Dear Congregation,

Grace and peace to each of you! As Bianca has made you well aware, there is a very important PACT event on Monday night that all of you are urged to attend—the Nehemiah Action sponsored by PACT. Our church is a member of PACT (People Acting in Community Together). It is an example of what community organizing can accomplish through an intentional process. Community organizing is defined as “involving people working together to address issues and to advocate for change within their communities. It aims to empower individuals, build grassroots leadership, and create a collective voice to influence policies and systems that affect the community.”

It is of primary importance that there is a large group of PACT supporters present to show the political leaders who’ve been invited that the “asks” (do-able solutions to improve the availability of affordable housing) are strongly supported by the community. There is power in numbers and in showing up! Bianca has invested a lot of time and energy representing our church in PACT, and will have a leadership role Monday. Let’s support her with our presence, and stand up for justice for the disadvantaged as Christ taught! See you there!
