Christ Congregational United Church of Christ invites you to a free community screening and lunch for Jesus Was a Migrant, presented by Tisby Studios.

This timely and challenging film invites us to reflect on the lives of asylum seekers, migrants, and families who are searching for safety, dignity, and hope. In one day, approximately 270,000 asylum seekers were shut out. Many of them were Christians. Many of the people celebrating that decision were Christians too.

As a church rooted in the way of Jesus, we believe this is not only a political issue. It is a spiritual one. Scripture repeatedly calls God’s people to welcome the stranger, protect the vulnerable, and remember that our faith is shaped by stories of exile, migration, refuge, and liberation.

Jesus himself lived as a child displaced by violence. His life and ministry call us to see the image of God in those pushed to the margins.

This gathering will include a free lunch, a screening of the film, and space for conversation about faith, justice, compassion, and what it means to respond faithfully in our own time.

All are welcome.
