Grace and Peace to you!
Dear Congregation,
Grace and Peace to you! This Sunday during our Food & Faith time together after worship and lunch, we will watch the documentary “Jesus Was A Migrant” together. After the 32 minute long film there will time for us to share our thoughts about what we’ve seen and heard.
When Bianca and I previewed it this week it became clear to us that this is not a film one watches with popcorn! There will be other opportunities for that kind of entertainment in the future.
In preparation for watching the documentary please be aware that there are some graphic pictures of past violence and death. Parents should be aware of this. There will be options for children to do coloring, crafts, and games in the library.
I do think this documentary does very well at connecting our faith to how we are called to respond to the refugee crisis in our country. We believe as stated in our UCC slogan that “Love Has No Borders”. The free-flying butterfly is its symbol.
Pray for the day when all those who migrate in need of safety are welcomed. See you Sunday!
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Candy
