Peace Candle

Dear Congregation,

Every Sunday at the beginning of worship we light the Peace Candle and pray together the World Peace Prayer. It has taken on even more meaning for me now that our country has initiated war with Iran. I’m sure you are as sickened as I am as daily reports come in of the deaths and devastation that have happened and are happening as a result.

In addition to doing what we can to make it clear to our elected representatives that we want an immediate end to the war through our phone calls, emails, letters, and participation in protests, I invite you to join me in praying the World Peace Prayer daily. Let us pray for peace, not just on Sundays, but every day.

May the Peace of Christ be with you always.

Lead us from death to life, from falsehood to truth,

Lead us from despair to hope, from fear to trust.

Lead us from hate to love, from war to peace.

Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe. Amen.
