Outdoors in the Garden Chapel!
Dear Congregation,
This Sunday’s worship will be outdoors in the Garden Chapel, a lovely, peaceful place where we are grateful to be able to gather for worship. In times like the present, in which one very troubling event after another is reported in the news, it is good to be together and anchor our souls in the beauty of God’s creation as we reflect on how best to respond to those events as Christians.
One of those ways to respond is to attend the vigil on Monday night, January 12th at Coral Gables Congregational UCC for a vigil in memory of Renee Good and all who have suffered at the hands of ICE. A group of concerned citizens, organizations, and faith leaders are gathering for this 6:30 p.m. vigil. I will be there and hope you can join me
The Baptism of Christ will be celebrated on Sunday. In worship we will be affirming our own baptismal vows, helping us to remember who we are and whose we are. We will be reminded of God’s love for each of us and of how we are to share that love in response with action.
As I say often, “There is a lot of work to be done in the world,” and it was never more apparent than now. Come to the water to be restored and for strength for the journey of life.
In Christ’s love.
Pastor Candy
