I hope you had a very nice Thanksgiving.

Dear Congregation,

I hope you had a very nice Thanksgiving. We certainly had a lovely time together last Sunday! First of all, we had a worship service full of great music with our choir, praise and worship team, and Jay Harragin and Graham Bryan’s talents. Pledge cards were turned in, prayers prayed, and a reflection given on what it means to be grateful to God with the first fruits of our lives. Afterward we shared a wonderful turkey dinner with the tasty potluck sides you contributed. This was followed by a time of sharing by those present as they named what they are thankful for while displaying their signs to the crowd in front of a colorful fall backdrop. (See pics!)

We do have much for which to be thankful, as individuals and a church, that we are blessed to share with others. Times together like Sunday, when we rejoice and reflect, strengthen our spirits to stay centered in God’s love and to do the work Christ calls us to in the world.

November 30th is the first Sunday of Advent. We’ll have the traditional Hanging of the Greens in worship and light the candle of HOPE on the Advent Wreath. Afterward you’re invited to join in the fun of decorating the Sanctuary for the season. I hope to see you then.

In Christ’s love.
