DESCRIPTION:Christ Congregational United Church of Christ invites you to a free community screening and lunch for Jesus Was a Migrant\, presented by Tisby Studios. \nThis timely and challenging film invites us to reflect on the lives of asylum seekers\, migrants\, and families who are searching for safety\, dignity\, and hope. In one day\, approximately 270\,000 asylum seekers were shut out. Many of them were Christians. Many of the people celebrating that decision were Christians too. \nAs a church rooted in the way of Jesus\, we believe this is not only a political issue. It is a spiritual one. Scripture repeatedly calls God’s people to welcome the stranger\, protect the vulnerable\, and remember that our faith is shaped by stories of exile\, migration\, refuge\, and liberation. \nJesus himself lived as a child displaced by violence.
