Mardi Gras Celebration

MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION, Sunday March 3^rd after worship in Kelsey Hall. This will be a time of laughter and frivolity before the more reflective and somber season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6^th. There will be a jambalaya lunch with corn bread muffins. (Kid friendly food, also!) For dessert there will be a King Cake that has baked into it a special crown. Whoever gets the crown in his/her piece of cake will be crowned the Keeper of the Alleluia. The Keeper will get to keep safe an Alleluia banner made by our Sunday School children until Easter Sunday, when she/he leads our worship procession holding high the Alleluia and hanging it across the front of the communion table. There will be Mardi Gras decorations, balloons, masks, beads, jazz music and a piñata for the children.
