Each Sunday there are special bulletins provided for two groups of children. For non-readers there is the 3-6 bulletin and for elementary readers there is the 7-12 bulletin. The bulletin can go home and the lesson re-enforced.
The Children’s Word is a special time on the steps with the pastor. Following this time, each child is invited to go with a leader to participate in an age appropriate activity in our Kelsey Building or Room One.
For children ages 3 years old through the 6th grade, we have Faith Development classes each Sunday morning following the Pastor’s Message for the Children in the 10:30 a.m. worship.
Using the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, volunteer teachers seek to create a caring, accepting atmosphere in which the children can learn about the Bible, the values and principles of the Christian faith, and develop their own spiritual relationship with God.
The vision of Seasons of the Spirit is to empower all ages to be transformed in Christ as they:
- Explore meaning and mystery in the Bible
- Celebrate in worship, sacraments, education, and service
- Engage in ministries of love, justice and witness
- Live in inclusive communities of faith, shaped and led by the Holy Spirit
Faith Development For Infants And Toddlers:
Faith Development begins with our Lullaby Lounge, a safe and loving environment for infants and toddlers located in the Kelsey Building. The Lounge is manned by one of the 3 C’s Preschool teachers whose loving care conveys to your child the love of the church family.
Preschool and Kindergartener’s:
The class lessons are derived from All-In-One-Bible fun activities for Preschool Children. The program remembers and celebrates the uniqueness of each child while giving them a sense of love, self-worth, sense of accomplishment, a safe place to express their feelings surrounded by love and learning of the love of God. Activities are various to help exercise their bodies, minds, relationships and hearts.
The Elementary School Class:
Uses the vision of Seasons of the Spirit literature thru volunteer teachers to create a caring, accepting atmosphere in which the children can learn about the Bible, the values and principles of the Christian faith, and develop their own spiritual relationship with God.
